How does DockCharged Electronic Vehicle Charger work?

DockCharged works by using batteries and software to quickly charge your car without the need for costly 240V installation. While you're out running errands, it stores energy from your standard 110V outlet. When you return, DockCharged uses “Dual Discharge” to rapidly releases the stored energy and combines 110V power directly it into your car, charging it fast. Plus, its portable design lets you charge your car anywhere without being tied to a wall outlet.

How much charge can I get in one night?

In a single night connected to a 110V wall, you can charge your car between 65 to 120+ miles (23kWh to 38kWh), depending on the number of modules you use. Each individual battery module adds 17 miles (5kWh) of range. For instance, with 5 modules, you'll get an extra 50 miles (15kWh) of charge.

How much does it weigh?

Each module weighs 80 pounds. If you aim for a 50-mile (15kWh) battery capacity, you'll need 3 battery modules and one electronics module, totaling a weight of 280 pounds.

What is a battery module?

A battery module is a detachable and portable unit that stores 17 miles (5kWh) of energy for your car. It comes with a reliable safety system validated by UL, a well-known consumer safety organization.

What is an electronics module?

An electronics module is a detachable and portable unit that contains the brains of the DockCharged. It also has the capability to charge 110V and 240V accessories to provide power as a home back up system or general purpose power backup, with HomeCharged charging accessory. It comes with a reliable safety system validated by UL, a well-known consumer safety organization.

What is the HomeCharged charging accessory?

The HomeCharged charging accessory is like an extra power plug for DockCharged. It connects to the electronics module and has 3 ports for regular stuff (110V) and 1 port for bigger things (240V). The 110V can handle up to 16 amps, and the 240V can go up to 14 amps. Overall, it gives you 3500 watts of power.

What’s included with a rental? 

When you rent, you can choose how many battery modules you want, each with an electronics module. The rental cost goes up with more modules.

What is the security deposit for the rental program? 

For the rental, there's a one-time refundable fee charged when you check out. If you decide to return your DockCharged, you'll get your deposit back, minus any costs for damages.

Am I eligible to rent?

Renting a Dockcharged is available to anyone in the continental US.

Can I cancel or pause my rental at any time?

You cannot pause your DockCharged monthly rental payments while you still have the DockCharged.

Is there an option to buy out my rental?

Yes, you can choose to buy out and own your DockCharged at any time during your rental. Prices are determined based on when you choose to buy out your DockCharged. Buyouts are not eligible for financing.
